Can't believe June is actually here! Almost half the year has passed. We're finally hitting the ground and pre-sale for Holomua starts on June 7. All of us won't have a life for the next month as we'll be sitting at the site most of the time. I hope we have a good turnout and sell out within 90 days. Gotta still make those general brokerage sales to sustain us throughout the year and next. Want to know about "Holomua"? Go to www.holomuacondo.com to see our website.
(BTW it's now almost 5 a.m. Been up for an hour. Can't really seem to sleep long these days)

Mama Mia
Went to see "Mama Mia" last night and enjoyed it. Too bad I never got to see it in Las Vegas but it was great! I was told by my friend that "you can't dance"...I didn't, but the music sure wanted to make you dance! Funny how songs you listen to on an everyday basis don't really click until someone puts it to a movie or in this case a broadway show. I never knew most of the songs were sung by Abba. My favorite of course "Dancing Queen". For those who know me know how much I love to dance. To be seventeen again :)

China 2007
It's going to be almost 2 years since we went to China and brought back Lilia. Time sure flies and I never put together my little album. Will need to work on it before I forget when and where we were. BTW, for those of you who think I look fat around the middle-wearing my neck wallet for security reasons.

Walked the Streets....
of old Kaimuki town yesterday while waiting to meet a client. Most of the buildings are still there however all of the businesses are different. Old Kaimuki Theatre was torn down many years ago replaced by a new building. 3660 on the Rise is one of the tenants. Goodwill is in what use to be the National Dollar store (if you're over 50 you'll know what I'm talking about) and on the next corner was Ben Franklin (again you gotta be over 50!). The corner crackseed store still has some sort of mini store but when we were young we use to buy our snacks before and after school there...you actually got your crackseed from those big glass jars and packaged in the little brown bags. I still remember those little red cuttlefish legs and all for 5 cents!
The fountain/okazuya is no longer there (bunch of stores). I use to buy my breakfast (noodles) and a green river drink or cherry coke before catching the bus to Kalani. Stewarts Pharmacy is now Discount Electronics. Amazingly FHB and Bankoh are still in the same locations. BTW Queen Theatre is still empty after what I think has been over 20 years. Hmmm, nice piece of property.
Time marches on....

Foot Update
Okay, I finally went to my doctor to check on the foot since it's been over a week. Took some x-rays and found out it's a fractured middle toe! It's going to take another couple of weeks to completely heal. Sheesh, I'm such a klutz!

Got together with some of our Hilo relatives as this past weekend one of my cousin's son, graduated from UH Med School. What an accomplishment! He'll be leaving soon for the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota where he'll be interning.
Got to see our Hilo cousins - C & C who we haven't seen in a while. I was happy to see my Aunty Ethel since the last time I saw her was at Uncle's funeral. She's a little thin but seems to be in good health and in good spirits. Only two of the Ishii girls are left -- Aunty Kay and Aunty Ethel + the two remaining Ishii boys -- Uncle Ted and Uncle Herbert. My gosh they are all in their 80's! Well, we'll all be there too!
Aloha Beneficial Hawaii!
As of May 15, 2009 the last Beneficial office in Hawaii (Waipahu) closed it's doors. This company saw many dedicated employees. We experienced marriages, birth of our children, passing of friends but most of all many, many lasting friendships. Kind of sad but many of us will have lasting memories.
I hope I can dig up some the past photos and put them in my blog...we'll see. A few of us got together for dinner the nite before just to "talk story". For those of you who start to miss being in a Bene office go to Schofield FCU in the near future as I understand they purchased the furniture, desks etc. I'm sure Gary Y or Sue H won't mind you hanging around however I'm sure Susan will make you open an account.
